چکیده

This report presents Semantic Web pipes, a powerful paradigm to build RDF-based mashups. Semantic Web pipes work by fetching RDF models on the Web, operating on them, and producing an output which is itself accessible via a stable URL. We illustrate how Semantic Web pipes can solve use cases ranging from simple aggregation to complex collaborative editing and filtering of distributed RDF graphs. To this end, we introduce the concept of RDF revocations and describe a pipe operator that can apply such revocations. This operator enables Semantic Web pipes where agents cooperatively develop semantically structured knowledge, while still retaining and publishing their individual contributions and beliefs. We conclude with a description of two available implementations. SeMedia Group, Univ. Politecnica delle Marche, Ancona, Italy. Previewing Semantic Web Pipes

In this demo we present a first implementation of Semantic Web Pipes, a powerful tool to build RDF-based mashups. Semantic Web pipes are defined in XML and when executed they fetch RDF graphs on the Web, operate on them, and produce an RDF output which is itself accessible via a stable URL. Humans can also use pipes directly thanks to HTML wrapping of the pipe parameters and outputs. The implem...

HCLS 2.0/3.0: Health care and life sciences data mashup using Web 2.0/3.0

We describe the potential of current Web 2.0 technologies to achieve data mashup in the health care and life sciences (HCLS) domains, and compare that potential to the nascent trend of performing semantic mashup. After providing an overview of Web 2.0, we demonstrate two scenarios of data mashup, facilitated by the following Web 2.0 tools and sites: Yahoo! Pipes, Dapper, Google Maps and GeoComm...

Who the FOAF knows Alice? A Needed Step Toward Semantic Web Pipes

In this paper we take a view from the bottom to RDF(S) reasoning. We discuss some issues and requirements on reasoning towards effectively building Semantic Web Pipes, aggregating RDF data from various distributed sources. If we leave out complex description logics reasoning and restrict ourselves to the RDF world, it turns out that some problems, in particular how to deal with contradicting RD...

Mashing up user data in the Grapple User Modeling Framework

In this paper we demonstrate the Grapple User Modeling Framework (GUMF), which exploits Semantic Web technologies and Web 2.0 paradigms to model users across different applications and domains. It introduces novel features such as dataspaces, which logically bundle user data, and user pipes, which allow to mash up user data from different sources.

AHP Techniques for Trust Evaluation in Semantic Web

The increasing reliance on information gathered from the web and other internet technologies raise the issue of trust. Through the development of semantic Web, One major difficulty is that, by its very nature, the semantic web is a large, uncensored system to which anyone may contribute. This raises the question of how much credence to give each resource. Each user knows the trustworthiness of ...
